About Aurora
Incorporated in 1999, the Aurora Group is an LGBTIQ+ community-led funding organisation. Through our various grant programs, we aim to fuel Australian LGBTIQ+ organisations in their work towards equality and better outcomes for the most marginalised people within the LGBTIQ+ community. We are able to do this through generous donations, fundraising initiatives, and our corporate partnerships program.
Aurora is entirely not-for-profit and is run for community, by community. We are peer run through a small team of staff, and a board of peer and ally volunteers. Read all about our team here.

History of Aurora
The Aurora Group—A Ruby Foundation Limited was incorporated in 1999 by a group of friends who shared a common history of extensive involvement in many community organisations. Seeking to bridge the gap in the funding and support available to smaller organisations servicing the LGBTIQ+ community, our Founders came together to raise funds, and have fun while doing it.
Supporting Aurora means you join us in our commitment to raise funds through events that engage and celebrate the LGBTIQ+ community, while empowering grassroots organisations to have the capacity to maximise their outreach and impact and ensure their projects are successfully realised.

Our Grants
Aurora offers two annual grant programs, Ignite Pride Grants, and the Amplify Pride Fund which is run in collaboration with GiveOUT. Ignite Pride is our small grants round which has been running for over 20 years. It offers grants of up to $10k to LGBTIQ+ projects that are designed to help improve the quality of life for the most marginalised within the community.
Amplify Pride is our large grants program, offering support of up to $50k to LGBTIQ+ organisations that work to support the most marginalised communities. These grants are not only larger but more flexible and more sustainable as they can be used for operational and core funding, including for paid employees. Additionally, this fund also provides capacity building support to all grantees. Although Amplify Pride has only been running for just 2 years, in that time it has already provided 14 grants totalling a whopping $471, 000 thanks to the incredible support of our major donors including The Snow Foundation and Paul Ramsay Foundation.
