It’s time to start growing out your hair and saving up for that silver slipper, because this year the Aurora Ball’s fairy tale theme is ‘Once Upon a Time.’
The 16th Aurora Ball will be on Saturday 20 June and will draw on the stories we all know from our childhoods (and the silver screen). Only this time Prince Charming might be going home
with the woodsman and Cinderella may not want a fella.
Returning to the iconic Sydney Town Hall around International Stonewall Day, the Aurora Ball will help dreams come to life by raising money for crucial organisations like Twenty10 incorporating the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service.
In the past year, Aurora has disbursed $30,000 to seven organisations supporting the LGBTI community in NSW, in addition to their major grant recipient Twenty10.
“This year the Aurora Ball will live up to its reputation for indulgent food and wine, and spectacular entertainment, all with a Grimm twist,” say Adam Niewand and Alison King, Aurora’s co-chairs.
“This year is all about magic: stepping into the stories which have intrigued you since you were a child, and spreading a little magic to the people in our community who really need it.”
“We can hardly wait to share with you the entertainment we’ve got planned for the night, so watch this space.”
Tickets to the Ball are $235 and are on sale now. Corporate and Community tables are also available. Tickets are limited, and booking early is strongly recommended due to quick sellouts in the past. For bookings people should email firstname.lastname@example.org or call (02) 8323 4041. Further information is available at www.auroragroup.com.au.
Aurora is again offering a discounted table to guests aged 30 and under who have never been to an Aurora Ball before. Ten tickets will be made available at a reduced rate of $160 so that younger members of our community can experience the night.
